The Roastery, Jingumae

As it's name would imply, The Roastery by Nozy Coffee is not just a standard coffee shop. Inside the unassuming store front and beyond the long central bar, The Roastery boasts it's own in-house coffee roaster. (Part of Chalait's Tokyo Coffee Series)© dandalker | CHALAIT

They rotate their beans regularly so it's always worth having a chat with the staff or keeping an eye on the chalkboard at the front to keep up with the what's on offer.

Beyond the coffee, The Roastery's menu is one of the more interesting ones out there.

The shop is run by the same guys as the TY Harbor Brewery so it's no surprise to see a few of their beers on offer. We also saw a bottle of Johnny Drum whiskey lying around which is no doubt used for some interesting coffee cocktails.© dandalker | CHALAIT

Among the many pastries they offer were the New York Rings which are The Roastery's take on the cronut. We are always keen to try all of the cronut's many imitators that we come across and we have to say that the New York Rings are one of the best we've tasted.© dandalker | CHALAIT

Equal parts fluffy and crunchy, not too sweet and with just a hint of cinnamon this pastry is almost perfect.© dandalker | CHALAIT

The Roastery also features some soft serve ice cream on their menu with rotating seasonal flavours. We opted for the simple milk flavor this time which paired nicely with the New York Ring and our shot of espresso.© dandalker | CHALAIT
