So we'll be honest and say that the Koffy roaster plant was not on our list before we got here. This small roastery is located in rural Ireland and is unlikely to be on most people's radar outside of the local area. We came across it completely by accident as we were making our way through Ireland but we're glad that we did. It's not often that you get to visit a coffee roaster in a remote part of the globe and get to experience the coffee world from an entirely different perspective than what you're used to.
Koffy was founded in 2006 by two Master Roasters William and Tony with over 30 years collective experience producing specialty coffees. They source and roast from single farms and estates around the world looking for unique coffees with special flavour profiles to enhance their blends. They like to aim for their coffee to have the taste characteristics of nuts, fruit, chocolate and caramel.
The Koffy Roastery is open to the public so anyone can see the entire process of transforming the raw green beans into freshly roasted blends.
