Streamer Coffee Company is a hip little neighbourhood joint that is definitely angling for more of a street/urban aesthetic. Not only can you see this on the walls which are adorned with skateboard bodies and graffiti art but also in some of their menu items like the military doughnut which comes covered in camo (!!!) frosting, more on that below. (Part of Chalait's Tokyo Coffee Series)© dandalker | CHALAIT

We visited the store on a Sunday afternoon and as you'd expect from a popular neighborhood coffee shop, it was busy with locals enjoying a cup or two.© dandalker | CHALAIT

Their menu featured a full espresso menu, a selection of single origin pour overs and a small selection of pastries. We decided to sample an espresso and the aforementioned military doughnut.© dandalker | CHALAIT

The espresso was pulled very short and was incredibly sweet with a syrupy mouthfeel, which went very well with the doughnut.© dandalker | CHALAIT

The doughnut itself was not as sweet as we were expecting. The camo effect was achieved by combining three different frostings, a matcha green tea base layer couple with dark and milk chocolate  to compete the effect. The matcha base really helped to keep the overall sweetness in check.  Definitely worth a go if you get the chance.© dandalker | CHALAIT

We would have loved to have tried their signature military latte too but we only discovered this as we were leaving so it will have to wait until our next visit. We also later found out that Streamer Coffee is known for having the best latte art in the city, no doubt due to the fact that it's run by Hiroshi Sawada, the 2008 Seattle Latte Art Champion.© dandalker | CHALAIT
